Seafood while pregnant???

I made shrimp salad today for my husband to eat after work. I want some so bad that I looked it up on the Internet and some say it's okay and others says no. I was wondering if any of you ladies ever had seafood while you were pregnant?

Ate seafood with the last one, even raw sushi. It's considered super healthy in Japan. I think we get a little paranoid here in the states, sometimes.

Just be careful how often you eat tuna, since it has a high Mercury content.

Sheesh! I eat tuna, fish, crab, shrimp, octopus, practically a lot of sea food. Just no raw foods. I honestly feel (in my opinion) that eating sea food made my child smarter then average lol idk maybe it's just me, but damn is he advanced lol

As long as it is not raw. No raw seafood is safe during pregnancy.Everything else in moderation. Nothing is good if you go overboard.

I do, but the smell of uncooked seafood...or looking at seafood being cooked or prepared...😰

Shrimp is totally fine, you only need to worry about fish with mercury in it. I eat salmon quite a lot :)

As long as it's cooked shrimp and not raw, then I think a serving or two couldn't hurt anything ;) People are more concerned about raw meat and mercury and parasites than anything. But if it's cooked you should only have the mercury to worry about, but if this is the only seafood you eat this week I think you would be fine? Keep in mind that in countries like Japan they eat fish nearly every day, and their babies are perfectly fine! It's really just a precaution more than anything. I hope this helped!! :) xxx
