second chances ? *Cheating*

How do you feel about second chances ? Forgiveness ? I feel like it all depends on the situation. Yes cheating is unacceptable , but did any of you guys actually forgave them ? How is your relationship now ? People always say "if they did it once they will do it again" , "once a cheater always a cheater" and yes that's true in some cases but what about the ones that actually do change ..

My now husband did in the first 3 months of us dating. Youd have to know him to understand that he's not the type to do it. I always said, "cheat on me once and ill kick you to the curb." I couldnt do it. We did break up. Twice actually but i just love him so much. That was over 9 years ago and we married last year. I think it truly depends on the situation. We were a new couple and his ex (first love) was a sleaze ball who made him feel like she really missed him. (drinking was involved). So needless to say, when we got back together i made sure to give him the time of his life. Lol 😋 i trust him now. Hes good to me and its hard to cheat when youre with each other all the time. Lol

Nope 👎🏼 in my opinion while I understand not giving up time invested or a "love" that you have, the action done on your spouse part means those two things are now null in void. The time didn't matter to the spouse, the love wasn't there leading up to the act or during the act or after the act. Let it go. I forgave my ex after some time. We are now good at co-parenting, I am happily re married  to a good man. My ex still to this day lives sad and alone bc of the decision he made and all I can do is pray that he finds a true happiness like I have, bc I will not be the one to try and give it to him a second time.

I don't believe once a cheater always a cheater but I know that once trust is broken it's hard to get back. You will always wonder and think if they are being unfaithful or even truthful.  I'm married and I can't say I won't forgive him, I can't say I will stay. Everyone Is different and only you know what's best for you so it's always up to u and only you.  Wishing u the best...

A little tiny bit of flirting is forgiveable. Full on cheating (sex, kissing, etc.) is not. I would never be able to forgive anyone who would do that to me. I know a lot of people are able to forgive their SO after they've cheated, but in my opinion it's unforgivable. It ruins the other persons self esteem, it makes them believe that they aren't worth being loved. Cheating is just cruel

I am always surprised on this app how many women tell other women to leave a marriage so easily. (Not specifically this thread but in others it's like - oh he got in an argument with your father- leave now! Lost his job? Marriage over! Won't help cook dinner- cut your losses and run!) I think people make mistakes - am I willing to break up my family because my husband drank too much and slept with someone at a conference? No im not. But if I found out he has been sleeping with a co- worker for a year and is emotionally involved? Yes, I would leave, the marriage has mostly likely been over for awhile. I guess I would say if he is truly sorry, agrees to counseling and fixing whatever was wrong in the marriage then give him another chance. Wouldn't you want him to do that for you?

I was with someone for seven years who cheated on me repeatedly because I would continue to forgive him every time. After leaving for good, I've made it a rule in my life that if anyone cheats on me from now on, they will immediately be out of my life. The thing is, sure, people can change, but do you really want to stick around to find out? Because there's no guarantee. In my opinion it is best to forgive people who betrayed you, but still walk away from them. Don't give them another chance to hurt you. Don't make what they did OK and just lay down and be their doormat. You demand respect by making it very clear that when someone hurts you, you won't be afraid to let them go. Love is respect. Love is trust. If you don't have those things in a relationship, it is going to be very difficult to be happy in that relationship.
