if you are discharging brown would you consider that a period?

The reason why I ask is because I have a regular likely bright red period for two days (could be spotting ) then for the next three days it turned brown but idk if it's just old blood from not having a period in a while (and no I'm not pregnant) but was on depo.

I'm on birth control and my period lasts like two days red blood and three days just brown discharge. I was told by my doctor it's normal, and usually periods on birth control forms are very light or non existent

I was on depo for 2 years and just stopped taking it in January I've been having brown discharge/blood randomly for about a month ( not pregnant either ) but can't start a normal flow I would consider this to be your body ending your cycle !

Yeah until the pad comes out w nothing on it I would consider my period to still be on
