How can ovarian cysts effect getting pregnant?

I just got my results back from my pelvic ultrasound, and my doctor said I have small cysts on my ovaries. How can this effect getting pregnant? Is there anything I can do to stop it from getting worse?

Cysts happen all the time and most of the time you wont know it. There are plenty of women who have many cysts and go on to have healthy pregnancys. Follow up with your doctor and talk to them about it they might be able to help more than anyone here. My mom has cysts to the point where shes have to have them removed. Ive had one that ive known about and it was small. Ive read that castor oil packs can help shrink them so they go away but id do a little research before trying it just incase !

September 2014 I had a huge ovarian cyst. It ruptured inside me and I had to go to the ER. With my follow up appointment two weeks later my dr told me it might be hard to get pregnant in the future. Evidently once you have a cyst you're susceptible to get more. He told me to come off birth control for a few months as it could possibly create more. Two months later I found out I was pregnant. On July 20th 2015 I had my little girl. It's crazy to think if I didn't have the cyst and didn't come off birth control she wouldn't be here. Keep the faith!

My baby is 5 weeks old now, I had a pelvic ultrasound and got told I had a small ovarian cyst then conceived him a week later. Small cysts are really common and go away on their own in most cases. Unless it got really bad which is most likely not going to happen, it won't affect getting pregnant
