38w 2d. Dilated??

Question

I have no Idea if I dilated at all.. My doctor hasn't bothered to check. Is she supposed to check or am I supposed to ask her? My next appointment isn't till Friday.

It's no indication of when labor can or will come.

My doctor didn't check at all until I was admitted to the hospital to have my daughter. Many doctors no longer check because it puts you and the baby at risk for infection.

My water broke when I was 1 cm so I think it's honestly pointless to check since it isn't always an indicator. When the contractions start or your water breaks, that's when you're in labor lol.

Its 100% pointless to check. I refused all my checks until my due date.

They don't check here until you're well overdue. It doesn't seem to give much indicator of how soon labor will be anyway- you can walk around partially dilated for weeks, or have labor start while barely dilated.

Mine would only do it that early if I asked. It can be quite uncomfortable so I never had them check unless they had to in the hospital. I'm sure yours would, just ask!! How exciting! I wish I was that far 😉

38&1 & my doc hasn't checked me either ..my next appt is Friday also and she mentioned that she would be checking it then
