formula feeding at baby friendly hospital

Kelli
So after 8 months of panic attacks about breast feeding my husband and I decided that formula would be best for our family. I fully understand that "breast is best" and have done a lot of research and tried to educate myself on breastfeeding. The more I read the more terrified I was. Seriously, panic attacks daily. So last week I decided it is just not for me and I'm going to formula feed, thanks to the support of many of you on this app...anyways, the hospital is part of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative. My MIL is the NICU dietician and though she was respectful of our decision she did tell us to be prepared for the hospital staff to really push for breastfeeding. Some blogs I read even said that the lactation consultant stayed for 3 hours trying to force them to do it and stressed them out and made them cry and feel like horrible parents. Should I switch to another hospital, bring my own formula, tell my OB, who may or may not be the one delivering, it's whichever of the 10+ OBs that is on call when you go in...I just don't know what to do...
