To be induced or not? Help!

Question

Hi ladies. So I'm freaking out! I just got home from my 38+1 appointment and my doctor informed me that he will be out of town for my due date. He will be leaving when I'm 39+2 and won't be back until after 3 days past due. I was given the option to be induced at 39 weeks exactly (this Sunday) if I wish. I asked who would be delivering my baby if he's not here, and was told some random doctor at the hospital that I've never met. 
I really don't know what to do at this point. I wanted it to happen natural, but I'm not sure what outweighs the other, alone with strangers at the hospital, or being induced. 
At today's appointment I was only 1 cm dialated .. 
Any inputs, or similar stories you can share? Thank you!

I've had it both ways and I prefer going into labor on my own over induction and I had perfect inductions. Now that being said with my first 2 I was at a small practice with only 2 doctors and I LOVED my doctor and if she had told me she was leaving for vacation around my due date I'd probably choose induction. It is a personal decision though because you can run into more complications with an induction. Hopefully no matter what you choose all goes well! Good luck! 🍀

Where I live you just get a random doctor anyways.. But induced labour is more painful (i heard that a lot lately). So you have to decide what is most important for you

Where is deilver your ob doesn't deliver your baby. It's whoever is on call. I would just let it happen natural unless your super uncomfortable.
