Do i have the rights?

Do i, a pregnant woman have the rights to hit, spray with pepper spray or off, or hurt in any way a dog that is barking at me and following me to bite me? Like I was just walking today in the other side of the street and a dog ran to me and started barking at me. I didn't hit him or anything I just tried to scare him away cause I am trying to get to my house and that dog literally followed me for about 5 minutes. Do i have the rights to defend my self or not?
