Pap smear

I've never had one yeah I know give me the hard time...I'm going to set up an appointment to get one done and I'm so scared. My mom told me it's no different then having sex (the thing they shove into you) well I have to work my fiancés penis into me slowly because my vaginal opening is small and sometimes it hurts. So I guess that is what I'm afraid of idk I just need reassurance I'm over reacting and everything will be fine...
