What do you think about tongue piercings?

I'm asking because all my life my mother has spoken so poorly of tongue piercings , (not really sure how my dad feels) which kind of made me think poorly of them too but now that I'm older I see it differently and I actually want mine done , but not the traditional way I want the horizontal piercing . Any who I've always been under the impression that it was a slutty thing to have and that getting one only meant that I go down on guys (I Don't) which these days its normal but keep in my I was being told these things when I was in middle school so back then sex wasn't nearly as openly spoken about then as it is now. I'm only 23 now but a few years make a difference. If I ever got my tongue done my mother would flip shit and I know what you guys are going to say "you're an adult" or "Do what you want" "Do what makes you happy" Lol I m sure y'all catch my drift . I'm gonna cut this post now , just tell me your opinions and why you feel the way you do .
