please, I need help.

I'm currently 13w2d and I've been experiencing extreme pain right above my belly button. It's so bad that it is taking my breath away. I've already told the doctor and I even went as far as to go to the emergency room the other night. All they told me is I've either pulled a muscle or my body is making way for baby. But there is NO way it's actually that painful, right? Can someone suggest what might be wrong with me? I've been struggling with this pain for four days now..
