Help with Musical Theatre Audition
I'm considering auditioning for a musical tomorrow and I'm quickly learning I'm not sure how to prepare for the audition.
I have to prepare 32 bars of two contrasting songs. I was doing some research and read that pop songs are rarely used in auditions. I was considering using a pop song because I don't think I have time to learn a new song (especially since I don't have coach to help me prepare).
Any advice? Is it a rule to not use pop or modern rock or R and B? Do I bring sheet music? What's considered contrasting songs?
I've taken choir so I can read sheet music, given time to look over it. I don't want to embarrass myself or waste time having a terrible interview.
