bad midwife?

I am 35 weeks pregnant and my midwife hasn't sent me to get protein levels checked nor has she checked me internally at all. I've been complaining to her that I have severe shakes in my hands and she said it's normal when it recently just started happening. ALSO I had to beg her to take a urine sample after I had bad back pain for over two weeks (she said it was normal) but turns out I had a bad Uti. Her not checking the protein levels and checking me internally is this normal considering how far along I am?

My doctors office gets a urine sample every time I visit to check for proteins.

The only error I see here might be her not taking seriously your back pain. Most likely she attributed it to just being pregnant snd being uncomfortable, but she maybe didn't handle your concerns sufficiently.
The other things you mentioned, I think are your own misconceptions. Cervical checks should NOT be routine. In fact, actual evidence says cervical checks just welcome bacteria into the vagina and shouldn't be done at all until labor has begun. 
As far as checking urine. My doctors office does it at he intake appt around 10 weeks and not again until 28 weeks. After that the next time I've ever had urine taken was in the hospital during labor. I've discussed feeling shaky before with my midwife and usually tie because I've not eaten enough or my blood pressure is actually too low.

That being said, if you're unhappy, then you absolutely have the right to seek out alternative care.

Nooooo to internal checks. If she checked your urine then she did check protein...I'm sure she's checking your blood pressure, right?

Midwives don't do internal exams because it can cause problems like miscarriages or preterm labor, even vaginal irritation. If she's checking your pee she's checking your sugars and protein levels. She might have dip sticks to check those levels and they might not indicate an UTI or she over looked it since there's a lot of similar symptoms between pregnancy and a UTI. The hands shaking is a new thing for me however. It might have to do with your sugars but not your protein levels. Not saying you're diebetic or anything. Just could be lower levels of sugar because of pregnancy. Orange juice can help with that. All midwives are different and practice differently. My first midwife back in California only did the glucose and a scan at 20 weeks and a "double check" scan at 35 to make sure the baby is head down. My current midwife checks my urine and only will do on scan at 20 weeks. Being a midwife myself and dealing with lots of other midwives she doesn't seem that far off her rocker. 
Both midwives checked out the baby's heartbeat and took my weight and BP- that's standard procedure.

From what I understand you should be getting your urine checked every month or every time you have an appointment for protein and infections . Depending how far along you are not getting checked internally is fine. I won't start getting checked internally till I'm 37 weeks which is only a week away 😬 also having to beg to get your urine checked for an infection is wrong on her part that infection could have caused issues with your babies health and your health and honestly it would have been her fault 😒

You do not need cervical exams until labor they mean nothing before then.
Protein tests...not even sure what you mean
Throwing protein in urine perhaps? If you don't have high blood pressure it's not necessary.
The uti is worrisome but the only worry.
