head position at 18/19 weeks

So I had my anatomy scan on Tuesday and my midwife appointment on Thursday and she asked if the ultrasound tech mentioned which direction my baby's head was going (because she didn't realize they had received the ultrasound report yet). Once she checked their fax and saw the report she confirmed the baby is head down, and said that's good. 

I always thought baby's direction was only really important towards the end, even many weekly fetus diagrams I've seen have baby changing from head down to up all throughout the second trimester. 

Anyone know what difference it makes where my baby's head is now, if any? I just hit 19 weeks today.
