Advice?

Question

I understand it's annoying when someone tells you what to do with your kid(s), but there's certain times where I feel a child's safety trumps this. 
I understand getting annoyed when it's all the time from one person and over stuff that advice isn't needed. Ex; what to do with your child's hair, not to bathe your child in the sink, etc. 
But when it comes to your child's safety, why do you take it offensively? 
By your child's safety, I mean car seat safety, crib safety, etc. 
I'm truly asking. This is something I haven't truly understood, hence why I'm asking for your  explanation(s)

With things like car seat safety, it's embarrassing. You can feel dumb or inadequate when someone tells you that something you did wrong by accident could've severely injured or killed your child. It's not annoyance as much as it probably makes them feel inferior and like I said, dumb or inadequate.

However; I think we as people should put our babies' safety before our pride and be thankful when people correct us for things that can potentially save the life of our little one.

I get irritated when someone makes a comment but then keeps on going 😡

My mom for example criticizes my parenting on a daily basis and im fine if she makes one single comment, il either explain myself or dismiss it, but if she keeps going on with it then i get upset and tell her to drop it

When shes over its like one after the other after another

You need to vaccuum the carpets more often, twice a day should be enough
Get rid of the cats, they carry diseases and are going to make the kids sick
Make sure (toddler) is eating more than three times a day, hes too thin
Spend more time with the kids, they are delayed and i can see on their faces how much they hate you
Take them outside at least twice a day to play 
Your dishes are a mess, clean them up
Ohh, your chairs are tied to the table, the baby is going to get strangled on the strings
Dont yell at my grandbabies, your hurting their feelings

😒😒😒 i dread my mom coming to visit, shes a nightmare

I can understand that when someone points out a mom is doing something unsafe with her child she can feel like she is being called a bad mom who doesn't care about their child's safety. Of course that would make anyone feel bad and go on the defensive. However it is absolutely worth it if they are doing something truly unsafe, they just might not know. There are so many intricacies to car seat safety and no one teaches you that stuff so it's understandable mom's don't know. You may hurt their feelings but if they decide to look into it and make some changes it could save their child's life - that is worth hurt feelings. My mom is car seat safety technician and I am so thankful she has taught me how to keep my kiddo safe! There is no way I would know any better if it weren't for her!

I think a lot of the time, the parent feels as though someone is criticizing them and insinuating that they are bad parents. Also, sometimes people don't say it in the nicest way and they can become defensive for that reason. Additionally, what people are saying is something they probably are already aware of and aren't choosing to do it that way due to certain reasons. For example, I know babies with acid reflux sleep better when laying a certain way, even though that's not how it's advised to lay a baby down to sleep.
