Do sex offenders ever change and should they be taken off the sex offered registry after a certain amount of time?

I think only people who are registered sex offenders for things like public urination (assuming it wasn't intentionally around children or as a form of flashing) should be eventually be taken off the list. Otherwise, no.

I think it depends on the situation. I had a coworker who had a 17 year old girlfriend at 19, and her parents reported it and it got ugly, so he's forever going to be listed as a registered sex offender.

I don't think people can change what causes a primal attraction/lust response in them.  I don't think that automatically means that they will act on that attraction/lust, but if someone HAS acted on those urges, I don't think they should ever be taken off of the list.

The only time id say yes is if it was a case where 2 consenting adults had sex in public like on an empty beach or something private but public? Otherwise no they pay for what they did

Statutory rape cases should be decided on a case by case basis whether a person should have to register at all let alone life.i have seen a few too many cases of boyfriend/girlfriend situations where parents didn't approve of the relationship and turned the older partner in and it shouldn't cause them to have to register. I believe all other sex offenders should be on the registry for life.

No sex offenders don't change. In the cases like statutory (16-18) like a parent got mad that their kid had sex and reported the adult party. Yeah they shouldn't be deemed sex offenders not should they be put on the sex offender registry. Cases like rape, pedophillia, molestation. No I don't even think they deserve a chance to live, they will never change, they should get the death sentence
