Hiking Baby Carrier Recommendations?

Anyone have a recommendation for a hiking baby carrier for a 16 month old? We went to REI today and tried a couple but they didn't work out. One fit me great but the straps that are supposed to secure the baby wouldn't stay on my daughter's shoulders. The other one had a harness that fit her great and seemed safer but then it didn't fit my short torso 😔 Help!
