Has anyone ever had an infexted ear piercing?

Got my ears pierced like 2/3 years ago (maybe longer tbh) just took out the earrings that it came with because the back broke. Now I'm getting a red bump on the back of my right ear and I'm just wondering if anyone has had this and if anyone has home remedies and what I should do to help it....please don't just say go to thw doctor. I wanna try stuff before that if I can. I don't have insurance and I can't afford it right now, I'd like to avoid it at all costs :)
