How do you get girl friends to talk to and hang out with???

I am 23 and have 1 and a half kids. I am married, but I have no friends. I literally go to work, come home and do housework and mom work, and do school and homework.

My husband doesn't like to have conversations because he feels it is just drama. He also hates it because when he comes home he just wants to relax and not have these conversations. But if I have a bad day, I need someone to talk to, and a 2 year old won't cut it.

Today a had a wonderful surprise baby shower. It was only 7 people, which was fine. I got to talk to and enjoy everyone. But then afterwards i found out that my mother in law got all pissy with my mom about inviting my mil's family. She said my mom should have only invited my family. Well my family is my mom and one set of grandparents.

I tried to talk to my husband about how I felt about this and he got all defensive and basically said that I have no family because of my actions, when he knows damn well the reasons we don't associate with my family.

I just feel I need girl friends to talk to so that I can have someone to help me figure out where to go with certain things since my husband won't talk to me.

So, how do you get girl friends to talk to who understand you?
