first time pregnancy /pains in stomach

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had bad stomach pains and ever knew what it was? Like is it somtachc growing and baby moving? Or should I go in and see my doctor just in case.. yesterday it was left side and than last night I didn't get any sleep cause it just hurt and didn't feel comfortable..
