What's this mean?

My boyfriend (of almost 3 years) and I just had our son a little over a month ago. We are currently living with my mom. Just recently my boyfriend got a way better job. It includes health insurance, retirement plan, paid vacation, and a way higher pay than he was making before. Since he is making way more and we have saved for a while, we can now afford to move into our own apartment. While we were talking about moving today, he told me that he wants to move in first without me or our son so that he can get "adjusted" easier and wait a little while before we move in with him. Is this something I should be concerned about or am I overreacting?? I could really appreciate some opinions on this!
