Cutting hole in condom

So my husband and I are TTC but he was adopted and never circumcised so sex without a condom is actually super painful for him (we have tried and he can't handle it) so our thought is to try cutting a hole in the tip of the condom. We already tried once and it seemed to work well. But I was curious if anyone else has had to do this and actually gotten pregnant? I'm worried about the chances and if the condoms have a spermicide. Thanks!!
