progesterone with clomid

I went to the doctor yesterday, a new doctors office, and she did blood work since I am 3 weeks late and haven't had a positive pregnancy test or anything. She wants to do progesterone and clomid. She said when my period comes to take my clomid as normal and wait 2 weeks after stopping it then take a pregnancy test and if it is negative take progesterone for 10 days and when I start my period to take clomid again and do my cycles like that. Does or has anyone done this before?
