Question

How long after finding out you were pregnant did it take you to find the right doctor? I'm 8 weeks now and haven't found one I like. This is my first pregnancy so I feel like I'm just being really picky but I also feel like I'm running out of time because I'm sure there are tests that need to be done soon and need to decide on someone. It's just very stressful and kind of frustrating.

I have always had an obgyn since I was 18 and have had the same one. That is who has done my yearly paps. I never used my gp it honestly never occurred to me I could I just figured it wasn't their expertise lol. So when I wanted to get pregnant I already had a doc she put me on prenatals before I even conceived and has birthed all three of my girls. Since you really want a good relationship I'd interview a few and do it quick since you are already more than half way through the first trimester. First look online and check reviews find a few you like then call and see if they are accepting new patients(the further you get the more likely a doctor won't want to take you on. They like to be involved from the get go) then see about coming into meet them. They won't charge for this, or shouldn't if they try to find a different doc. Any who after you've met a couple choose one and stick with that doc. You could also check out a couple midwives if you want to go that route. And a couple of good questions to ask are
What hospitals do you birth at
What is your views on induction 
How often do you perform c sections
What is the likelihood it will be you delivering my baby and not one of your colleagues.
And less important are how many ultrasounds 
Do you do blood tests in office or do I need to go to a lab

I went with a midwife! Found her around 6weeks. 2 weeks after my BFP. Im almost 21weeks. She has been awesome.

It's okay if you don't stick with the same doc through the whole pregnancy. If you're worried about missing tests, make an appointment with one, get the routine stuff, and then keep looking if you don't like that doc. Some women switch at 20 weeks. Some switch at 38. Some women think one doctor will deliver the baby only to find out the doc is out of town when she goes into labor and some random ass stranger doctor catches the baby instead... best laid plans and all that 😆

Do you know what kind of delivery you want? I'd start by deciding if i wanted a home birth, midwife at hospital, birth center, or conventional  hospital birth and work backwards from there. Many women end up traveling some distance to have a practice where they are comfortable.  You can always switch practices at any point in the pregnancy, so you're never locked in. It might not be optional, but I've heard of women switching in the last trimester.
