What causes vaginal pain during pregnancy

I'm 40 weeks today and my midwife tells me the pain is normally  and I believe that but I want to know what causes this exact  feeling it's on my sides of vagina not in it ND it feels like a bruise ?  When I walk or flip sides laying down it feels like a swollen muscle

I have this & they think I have a blood clot. My baby's head is comoressing my iliac vein. Tmi question. Is ur lady bits or either leg swollen?? The bruised feeling was my first symptom.

It's probably pelvic pressure from the baby being so low!

You have a lot of pressure on your cervix and your cervix is very sensitive. Only thing to help it is to have the baby. Lol
