Scoliosis

We just found out my nearly 8 year old son has scoliosis. We have been referred to the hospital and have an apointment with a chiropractor today. I know NOTHING about this condition and ofcourse my head is going round in circles. Does anyone have any insight on this condition? What do I expect at this apointment? and the one we will have at the hospital? Am totally clueless and freaking out
