Birth control problems

Soooo I just started taking birth control for the first time ever this last Sunday. I was spotting when I took it but my period was suppose to come today, the 15. I stopped spotting and my period hasn't came. Is this normal? I feel like I could be getting my period. I'm having back pains and light cramps.
