No period after removal

So it's been a month since I got my implant (nexplanon) removed. I would get a period every two weeks on it and it made me feel sick, I gave it 9 months to see if it would regulate and I would feel normal but it didn't change. I have yet to get a period has anyone that has had it and come off it experience this? When I got it removed my doctor said my period should be back to normal that as soon as I got it to start on my new birth control technically I'm 2 days late. I'm waiting for the weekend to buy pregnancy test but it would really ease my mind to know if other women have experienced late or irregular periods after the removal
