strings

Ok so I got my IUD in Tuesday, And my fingers don't spend a whole lot of time inside myself so I'm not overly familiar with the area. Where exactly should I be feeling for the strings and what should i be looking for? My doc didn't really say a whole lot he was booked like crazy Monday and didn't have time to "debrief" if you will. HELP I know it's still there because I've been compulsively checking the toilet every time I've sat on it but I'm getting paranoid because I don't know what I'm looking for
