Ok I'm a ftm and looking for a good breast pump. Which brand do you recommend and why?

Check and see what your insurance covers. Start there. I wouldn't advise investing money on a pump until you're 100% sure you'll end up breastfeeding and using one. You can always get a different model later if you don't like the free one through your insurance.

I got the Medela freestyle. This one wasn't covered by insurance, but it's the one I wanted so I bought it myself. It's a small hands free pump, and completely portable! It hooks to my pants! It's a chargeable battery and you can even get a car charger for it. It's a double pump and it's got MULTIPLE settings and speeds to help with let downs. My main reason for buying it is because we travel, a lot. And the parts and replacement pieces are much easier to find in a store just about anywhere. I didn't want to be on the road or out of town and I forgot a piece or a piece broke and needed to be replaced.

I love that I am able to pump and do other things. I'm not confined to the couch or anything because I purchased the bra to go with it.

Check with your insurance first! I have Cigna and I called them today and found out they cover one 100% if I get a written prescription from my doctor once I'm 28 weeks! I'm a ftm but I'm not very picky so to me it doesn't matter which one I get. I figured coming from them it would have to be decent.

I got the Spectra S2 through my insurance. I did my research for weeks before deciding on this one. Definitely see what your insurance will give you then do your research on your options. I am so glad I got this one!

Thank you ladies. Yes I'm totally checking with my ins. But waiting to see what they say. So was just curious. Also if they do cover one and I end up not liking it I was wanting to already have one in mind so I'm not trying to research during that time. But I'm not that picky as long as gets the job done I'm good.
