A glass of red wine? yay or nay

What are you guys thoughts on having a glass on wine while pregnant. How many mothers drunk while pregnant?

I won't be. I understand that some doctors will say there's no risk in every now and then especially when you're in the third trimester but it's just not worth it to me. I will, however, be popping a bottle in the delivery room lol.

Not worth the risk IMO. I'm almost 33 weeks and counting down til a beer but until baby is here even one sip is too much

I don't think there's harm in drinking very moderately while pregnant. I know multiple women who have drank very sparingly (maybe one drink per week) and their pregnancies and children were/are perfectly healthy. I do see more of an argument for someone who drinks consistently and can't go without it. I don't deny that FASD is real. I also see a larger argument for women who eat GMOs, eat excessively, don't exercise, smoke cigarettes or are in unhealthy relationships. There are so many other things that get over looked in our culture. I'd rather talk about all of that. Also, I don't crave alcohol like I did before now that I'm pregnant. I'm not sure why. Except I do enjoy wine with dinner. I do see the digestive advantages wine has when drank with food. I'll continue to enjoy life and share good things with my loved ones.

Let's weigh the risks vs the reward. I do not care nearly enough about alcohol to risk even the slightest possibility that it could harm my baby.

I'll pose it another way: I had serious complications with both my pregnancies and had to deliver early. I did everything "right" and something still went wrong. But if I had had the occasional drink or even just one glass of wine and those things went wrong, I would always blame myself for what happened and wonder if it was the alcohol. That's not something I'd be able to live with very well. It's so not worth it!!!

And most doctors say NO to ANY alcohol. There's just not enough evidence to say it's okay.
