how can I change my daughters last name to mine?

I need to know how I can change my daughters last name from her "fathers" last name to mine. Does anyone know how this process works? How do I go about doing this? I won't go in to my personal reasons so please no one ask me to explain myself, but if anyone has any helpful advice I'd greatly appreciate it.

In MN i needed to fill out a lot of paper work send a copy to the 'father' so he knew the count date and reason. He could of come to court but didn't show. I think every state has free help lines you can call and get all the answers you need. I would look that up.

I do believe u have to go to ur circuit court or the court clerks off n file a petition for the name change of a minor n fill out the parental consent for. I was just looking this up the other day

My experience is you have to either get him to agree or terminate his right involuntarily. Then you change it to yours.

It probably varies state to state. In the state I grew up in I had to wait until I was 14 to change it to my moms name because we couldn't get him to sign the paperwork since my biological father was in prison. Another route would be to terminate his paternal rights so he has no legal say, but you may need a later for that. Good luck ❤
