When should I test?!

I've been TTC For about 7 months now and still nothing. I was so determined this month will be my month that I made sure to have sex every other day on my fertile days and a few times on my ovulation day. I was due for AF yesterday but nothing, I took a test Tuesday (day before AF was due) and it said negative. Do you think I should wait a few more days to tedt again or do you think I'm out? This would be our first child and I would love to give this to hubby as his birthday present in 2 wks.
