Is 3 weeks to early to leave my baby overnight?

It's my birthday this weekend and we are having a small gathering at my house and then going out to the town afterwards with a group of our friends. My partner offered to stay home and look after our 3 week old son, but my dad and step mother offered to have him on Saturday and night and Sunday until we are ready to pick him up! It's so generous of them, and I definitely trust them, but I feel a bit guilty for leaving him with non parents for the whole night. Should I accept their offer, or should I tell my partner to stay home? I would love to have him come with us to make it the perfect birthday I will just feel sad for my son...

That's totally up to you, if someone capable of taking care of him is offering to watch then why not? Once he gets older or you have more kids it might be harder to find someone to give you the night off like that. Go enjoy yourself!

Shew my son is 1 and I can't bring myself to let him stay the night with anybody. I tried once and it ended up me going to get him at midnight because I missed him 😂😂
You do what's best for you just have it set up to where you can leave and get your baby if you need to, everybody deserves a break

Do what is best for you. When my dAughter was one month I thought I was ready to leave her at my parents over night... I went to a party  and left early to get her lol

I could never do it. Couldn't leave my babies even for an hour until they we're at least 18 months! I don't know how people do it.... 
Your baby is only small for such a short time!! Soak it up. You can go out when they are older.

My 2nd daughter was 2 weeks old when my mom had her for the night, there was no reason for me to feel anxious or anything about not being with her, my mom wanted me to rest and recover

It's been different for me for different kids. My second child was bottle bed and I felt 100% comfortable leaving him with my mother in law when he was 3 weeks old so my husband and I could go on a 2 day getaway. However, I wouldn't even let a babaysitter watch my daughter until she was a year old. And we never left my oldest son with anyone until he was two. So it's really your personal preference.

I've never left my children overnight until they were over 2 years old. You do you though. I'd be to stressed at 3 weeks postpartum to leave my child. I breastfeed so it just wouldn't really work out anyhow.

Definitely your call! It's a personal preference and everybody is different. I have friends who have left their babies several times at varying ages. And then there's people like me who have never left their kids with anyone else but daddy (except for when I was in labor with my second child!). If it's what you want and yiurI comfortable with it, then go for it.
