How soon did you get your period after your mirena IUD was removed?

My husband and I are TTC. I had my IUD removed on February 15th.  It's been over a month and I still haven't received my period. I've taken a few pregnancy tests and they are all BFN. I did bleed for about 5-6 days after the removal. I'm assuming it's from the IUD removal, as they said I would spot. However, it was heavier bleeding, similar to what my period used to be like. First question, is the heavier bleeding normal after removal, or do you think my period coincided with the removal bleeding?  Secondly, I've been told it takes about 3 months for periods to return to normal. How long did it take for your period to return? I just want to be able to track ovulation and can't do that if I don't have a period. OPKs haven't shown LH peak, probably because I haven't ovulated. I am tracking Basal temperature and CM. Thank you ladies!
