Any other babies self-feeding with their mouth and not their hands?

Question

My son was not self-feeding for the longest time. Then two weeks ago he started bending over and opening his mouth and putting food in it. This is how we let him eat now. He's probably used his hands about 2 times to get food in his mouth. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to figure this self-feeding thing out, but I'm happy he's a eating a little more independently.

Lol it's the funniest thing to watch. My son has been feeding himself with his hands since 8 months but just recently started licking food off his tray
