Successful twin vaginal births?

Question

My goal is a drug-free, vaginal birth. Doc supports me 100% as long as at least baby A is head-down. Curious of any other moms out there with positive birth stories of twins birthed vaginally (drugs or not).

I'm a twin, we were born vaginally all natural 6 mins apart no issues and we were about 15lbs all together so big babies. It is possible people even if that was almost 29 years ago!

My bosses wife had twins naturally 3 years ago. They just made her have them in the or in case anything happened they were prepped for surgery.

My doc said its a 50/50 chance, just depending on if baby a decides to cooperate. However, she does recommend at least getting the catheter for the epidural even if you don't end up getting the epi. That way if they have to an emergency c section they don't have to put you under general anesthesia.  Also, she said they often have to reach up inside your uterus to help pull out baby b, which can be pretty uncomfortable without an epidural.  I was really concerned about all this, but I'm at 35wks+3 days and baby a is still breech, despite everything I've tried to get him to flip. So I'll likely have a c section and it'll be a moot point.  Good luck!!!

My best friends wife gave birth to their twins vaginally. Her doctor didn't want her to do it but it went smoothly and both babies were head down. She had some issues with delivering the placenta but that wasn't because she had vaginal birth. Just one of those things.

I'm curious about this too. I'm expecting twins who share a placenta. I've had three children before one epidural because I was induced and two natural so I know I can do the birth thing. It's the placenta that worries me

My friend had twins-boy & girl naturally and her daughter was breech! Both now healthy and troublesome toddlers. It was her 3rd/4th child so not sure whether the fact it wasnt her first labour helped.

I had twins vaginally with no pain meds. It was a super smooth birth, they were two and a half hours apart (because that can happen when you don't rush it) Both girls were head down but baby b was posterior so a little more pushing to get her out. The doc tried to get me to have an epidural for the reasons you have read about "if an emergency happens" but honestly they wear off and if it's a real emergency they will put you under anyway. I know with out a doubt that if I did have the cath for an epidural in place they would have insisted on a cesarean section for baby b. The midwife did have to reach up but it wasn't any more painful than labor! Also the placentas were fused together and huge but they came out with no issue. They did give me an iv and insisted on pit after baby a was born to "keep things going" but it was as close to a natural twin birth as I feel I could get in the hospital.
