Best lactose-free recipes?

Question

My boyfriend is lactose-intolerant, so I was curious to see if anyone has some good recommendations -- both for main dishes and desserts -- to cook and bake for a lactose-intolerant person. Thanks in advance! :)

I thought I was lactose intolerant for a few years (long story). All of the recipes are lactose free - even the two cheese recipes she has. BUT as a warning, her cheesy dipping sauce is WAY better than what's used on her Mac and cheese dish. Just take the cheesy dip and put that on there instead.

My favorites on that site are her vegan cheesecake (it's GODLY) and her potato and leek onion soup dish.

I use milk substitutes for most all of my recipes, I'm partial to coconut but soy is probably the easiest.

Unless it's baking (which is tricky because of the chemistry aspects) you can usually just do a 1:1 swap in your favorite recipes.

I've also found some great recipes in r/paleo on reddit. Com.

When I was struggling with this I took Lactaid pills. They helped a lot and made it easier for me to digest dairy. With them I could eat just about everything except milk. I went to a nutritionist and she leaned me back onto dairy, so now I'm okay. I got so used to drinking milk that I avoid it though. 
I found the pills super helpful! They are cheap too! They are next to the things like beano, and you just take a couple before you eat

Really anything just substitute milk for soy or almond milk and butter usually has a substitute or I believe I can't believe it's not butter works...my mom is lactose and she eats like everybody else!

I always use almond milk to sub for cow milk. Or buy "lactaid" milk which is cow milk with lactose removed. Earth balance is a brand that makes Amazing plant based butter and dairy products. I use earth balance vegan butter instead of margarine or real butter. Be sure to always read food labels because whey and caesinate (wrong spelling I think!?) are in all sorts of stuff and contain lactose. (Weird things too, like taco seasoning packets - things you wouldn't think would have dairy). Coconut milk is a good sweet baking sub. Cashew cream sauce as a dairy cream alternative. It's great for baking or making "cream"-based soups or dinner items. Another really easy trick to avoid dairy while cookin is to follow vegan recipes but then add meat.  Isa Chandra Moskowitz makes a lot of great easy to follow vegan cookbooks with everyday ingredients. So there's a start. Haha. I could babble dairy-free kitchen tips ALL DAY. :D
