Shot for babies lungs ?

Is this bad or anything. Like what effect does it have besides maturing the baby's lungs. I'm gonna get my first shot today but I'm so scared.

I had that done for my youngest son - he was born at 35 weeks and he's now 9 years old and you'd never know he was a premie or that he had any time in the NICU

I had preterm labor with my first and got the steroid shot.  My doctor is worried with my current pregnancy that I will come early and wants me to get one. If the baby comes early they really have some amazing benifits. I decided not to get one with this baby bc I don't think she will come early. I've read that if you get two rounds of the steroid ( each round would involve two shots) that they start to see some negative side effects but they don't typically see those side effects after the first round. There was one study I ready that linked the shots to increased add/ADHD.... but very little negative info about them out there. The study still recommended getting the shots bc of all the good they can do.

It may make your heart race and make it hard to sleep. It's a steroid shot, so mom and baby may feel the normal effects of steroids.

I went into preterm labor at 34 +3. Got the steroid shots, and honestly I'm relieved. Because if baby does come early will have more mature lungs. Hurts to get the shots, but it wasn't a lingering pain. Short term steroids is not the same as being on them long term.
