Hookup Culture

I would love to hear people's opinions on sex before a relationship. Can hookups turn into a relationship? Or does it ruin everything? Friends with benefits is fun until you realize there's actually chemistry there, especially when you're keeping it a secret. I'm comfortable having casual sex but deep down I feel there's something more. I know I should probably talk to him, but I'm afraid of ruining what we already have: a developing chemistry. Is it wrong to wait? Any experiences or advice would be very helpful(:
