bfp after bfn?

I just need someone to talk to/some advice/anything! This is my first month ttc. AF was supposed to start the 18th (the 19th according to glow). I took a test 11/12 DPO and I got a bfn :( Do you think that was too early to test? My cycle is very regular, so it's weird AF is late. I'm trying to wait until I'm a week late to test again because I don't want to be disappointed again. I've been crampy like AF is about to start, but then the cramps go away. Is that normal also?
