Help!!?!?!?!!

Ok some people reading this will think I am just stupid for posting this but oh well! I have a question and please respond and give me some advice because I just don't know what to do. I told my "friend" that I liked this guy and at the time I had no problem telling her because she was in a relationship. I have always felt threatened by her because she it pretty and lets say I am a runner up compared to her. I didn't want the guy to know that I like him or technically loved him because I have liked him for going on 3 years and I had no idea if he was into me or liked me back. About 2 months later from telling her, my BFF told me that she had told her that she was into my guy and the day I told her that I liked him she imeaditaly texted him. So all of this time I have been flirting with him and just well being stupid and this whole time he knew!!! He has not asked me out or said anything about it and I am just lost at how to tell him that I wanna date him. Does anyone have any idea what to do!?!?!? I feel like 😖😮 about this whole thing! Should I ask him out, Play it cool or just forget about him and let her take my guy? What do I do??
