What is moderate bedrest? My friend is on moderate bedrest but she going out to lunch and going to Birthday party and going to get friends house all the time. She 24 weeks and had to have her cervix stitched Close because she was 2 and a 1/2 centimeter dilated at 22 weeks. They told her if she didn't have that done she would have had the baby that week. She was put on moderate bedrest

Thanks. She's not supposed to do stairs and drive. I don't think she know what it means. It not my place to say anything. I just wish she would take it more easy and find out exactly what it means by asking her doctor

I was put on full bedrest which meant I was allowed to shower once a day for no more than 10 minutes and was to limit my bathroom trips. Otherwise I had to be in bed. From there I was put on moderate bedrest which meant no liftingc housekeeping, exercise, standing for long periods, or walking long distances. Basically just be really lazy.

I was 23 weeks my cervix shortened measuring at 1cm, dilated at 2cm and was 50% effaced. They couldn't stitch me cuz there was hardly any cervix to sew. They stopped my labor and was placed on strict bed rest I'm 25 weeks now. At 12 weeks I was on moderate bed rest, limit my walking, no exercise, no sex, no driving. Could get up to shower and fix myself food and sit on the couch do light stuff and not over exert myself. This time i only have bed to bathroom privileges and 10 minutes tops to shower. I can't even sit for long periods of time :/ when I was on the moderate I wouldn't even go out!!

It varies from woman to woman, provider to provider. Could mean pelvic rest, no driving, no walking other than making food and going to the bathroom, a certain amount of hours to still be sent in bed. It's just so hard to give a clear answer. You'd really need to ask your friend what her own doctor said.
