Bad to not be effaced ?

37 Weeks and ultrasound shows my cervix is still 4cm long. Have a feeling baby girl will be cooking past her due date. Anyone else still not effaced/dilating ? Is this bad to not be?

You're totally normal. Lots of people have no effacement or dilation until the actual start of labor.

At 38 weeks I am not dilated at all, but I am about 80% effaced... my midwife said it's totally normal to have progress with one and not the other (or no progress with either up until labor). We did realize at my appointment yesterday that I have scar tissue on my cervix from a LEEP procedure years ago that may keep me from dilating on my own & they might have to "scratch" my cervix to get it started... getting induced Tuesday night, so we will find out then!! 😊

I was checked yesterday at 37w1d and I'm completely closed with a posterior cervix. I wasn't surprised bc is very hard for me to dilate. But that can change within seconds. Don't get too worried about that. With my first when I got to the hospital I was only 2 cm but I was in horrible pain and they kept me. Second one the same.
