Induction: what to expect???

Question

I'm 1 cm dilated (been that way since 34 weeks), 100% effaced and been having 10 min apart contractions for almost a week. I'm due in a week 1/2 and my doctor said I'll probably have to be induced. I'm not sure how I feel about being induced but at the same time I'm so uncomfortable I don't think I could wait until my baby is ready to come. What should I expect if I do end up being induced?

Honestly,  I don't understand why they even say that... it's normal to go past 40 weeks because ur due date is just an estimtion.
Ur not over due until 42 weeks.
I was 100% effaced and 1 cm from 37 weeks till 41 weeks. I went from 1 cm to 6 cm in less than an hour at 41 weeks. My entire labor and delivery was 5 hours. 
Induction might work for some,  but a good 60%*( and that's documented, not an opinion )end up in emergency c sections due to the bad contractions for too long, causing baby's heartbeat to drop.
If not needed,  decline induction and let baby come out when ready. ..

I was induced at 39+3 but I was already 3cm dilated. I was induced with pitocin and honestly it wasn't bad at all until they broke my water. Then it went from 0 to 100. It seriously was the worst pain I have felt in my life! I ended up getting the epidural after about an hour of trying on my own. My contractions were right on top of one another. Once the epidural kicked in everything progressed faster. It was my first baby and I pushed for about an hour. The whole thing took about 8 hours.
