Everyone makes mistakes, literally every single person alive.
It's important to not get defensive though and to be open about it. A major part of being a (responsible) adult is that when you make a mistake, you take responsibility for it.
Doing so shows that you're an emotionally mature person. Plus, the only way to learn from your mistakes is to acknowledge them first!
