birth control ? endometriosis

Ok so I went for a consultation to my Obgyn due to my endometriosis. I had surgery on Dec.2nd 2016 to remove my endo, I have stage 2. He suggested to get on birth control for 6 months and then begin ttc which is so hard since he knows I've been ttc for 2 years now. Well my question is did any of you girls get on BC after having surgery for endo ? Does that maximize your chances on getting pregnant ? I'm really not looking forward into getting on BC .. I just want to keep trying. I started taking prenatals and hubby taking multivitamins as well (for about 2 weeks now), in hopes to conceive soon. Any advice, stories or answers will be highly appreciated 💕💕
