when is to soon to give birth?

I live in upstate ny. I'm having cramps. Tightening of belly. Not using the bathroom as much. Lots of pressure. I'm 36 weeks 2 days. Is that to soon?

It is a little early 36 weeks is not classed as full term jeez some people claim its getting earlier and earlier. If you go into labour then they won't stop it because most babies are born perfectly safe at 36 weeks but it is still classed as pre term. How people can say your full term at 36 weeks confuses me thats 4 weeks off of your due date. Baby can grow and develop so much more in 4 weeks. But if its happening naturally the drs will know what to do and will make sure baby is fine ☺

As a flip side experience: some doctors will not stop labor starting at 34 weeks. Some babies born early do perfectly well outside the womb especially if they came out on their own.

Try not to worry, keep listening to your body, and call your doc about when to come in :)

You would still be considered pre term and your baby could have some health issues and have to be in nicu. A lot of doctors mine included determine being term at 38 and full term at 40 you'd be amaized at the difference 2 weeks can make on baby. So if you go to the hospital they may stop your labor as long as baby is not in any distress. Best of luck to you!!! If your little one is born may it be as healthy as can be!
