When did you or do you plan to start saving for retirement?

Well considering the tenuous state of healthcare in the US, my plan is simply to die of an easily preventable condition before I reach retirement age. It's called thinking ahead here people…

At the very least, have a 401k, people!! So silly not to save asap. I'll tell you a little story that may help...  my great aunt started hers at age 18. She only put in 3-4%. By the time she was 78 she had several million dollars in there. Never had to worry about money and when she passed at 86 left the remaining to her grandkids, as well as her house. Save!!!!

I've been at my current job for 8 years and they have a 403K for me... they match what I choose to put in every pay check. What's nice about it is if I ever leave and take a job somewhere else, I can roll that money over into that new account.

I also have an IRA!

My SO and I will be lucky if we can retire. I have my fund a grandparent set up and my SO has his job retirement fund. We also have our CPP from the federal government but that is if we are allowed to draw it as they had to take money from those who have put that were born from 1980 on to support the boomers.

My fiancés job as a pension/life insurance, we don't save anything from his weekly pay. Why would we when his job already does it?

I'll be starting when I get my first teaching contract. It's only common sense to start then.

At 22. Which I think is just fine. Plenty of time to save when the retirement age is getting later and later. I doubt most people start saving while in college anyway? We are already in the process of setting up my daughter's college and car savings account, which is more important to me at the moment. 
Because my husband will have an office job (he's an engineer but will likely move up in his company to one of the executive positions or at least mine superintendent, like most in his field do) I imagine he will work until 67 or 68, he's a busy body and loves working. He also wants to invest a lot of money in different accounts. I plan to purchase rental homes in a couple of years so I will have continuous income through that, and my small farm. Even though we'll wait 4 years past adulthood (gasp 😱) we'll have plenty in our savings for retirement.

I have a government pension and a separate deferred comp retirement account. My husband has a 401k. We started at 22 (when we got jobs after college). I'm only 24 so there isn't much in there 😂
