How do I file for divorce?

Question

Do I go to the same courthouse I applied for my marriage license??

I really want to get this going before my son arrives in June. And no the man I married isn't the father, and he is aware of that.

We got married back in December and we are already seperated, never lived together and I just want to finalize everything legally.

Any advice would be very helpful.

Go to the courthouse and ask them but depending on the state you won't be divorced while pregnant. There are circumstances that will make it so you can be but I believe they require proof that he isn't the father. Best way to know for sure is to either go down or call.

Not sure where you live but where I live even if the baby isn't biologically his, if you're married when you become pregnant the child is "his"

Check your states laws first. I'm no lawyer but I'm 99% sure that no judge will sign a divorce while the wife is pregnant. You may have to wait until you deliver. Good luck!!

I got married in 2012 and got divorced last year. We weren't living together for a long time and I was pregnant with my now husbands baby. My ex went to court, paid I believe around $200 and we did everything ourselves. No complications. Didn't matter I was pregnant. Took like 2 months to finalize. You should call and check they will tell you what to do. Good luck !

You can get the process started, but until a DNA test is done proving he's not the biological father the divorce will not be finalized.

You might even be able to do an annulment if it's been that short and you haven't even lived together. Look on your local courthouse website or just give them a call. 
I got divorced in 2011 and it only cost me about $200 cus I did it myself and didn't hire a lawyer. It wasn't a complicated divorce and me and my ex just agreed on belongings and that was it. If your husband doesn't fight it you don't need a lawyer and it's not hard. You can use the free services at the courthouse to help you fill out any paperwork you don't understand.
